Rules

Overview

Fantasy Football is a football simulation based on the weekly statistics of actual NFL players. Team Owners manage their team through the regular season by drafts, trades, dropping/adding Free Agents, and choosing starting lineups.

Owners

A person becomes a Team Owner when Team Names and Passwords are submitted and assigned to League. An owner will be not be allowed to own more than one team in a league.

Season Structure

  • 14 Regular Season Games
  • 2 Playoff Games
Note:    No games in Week 17 - Typically, players whose teams have already clinched a playoff spot will see limited action in Week 17.

Roster

Each team roster will consist of 16 Players:

2 Quarterbacks
4 Running Backs
4 Wide Receivers
2 Tight Ends
2 Kickers
2 Defensive Teams

Each week, an Owner will submit a starting line up consisting of 8 Players:

1 Quarterback
2 Running Backs
2 Wide Receivers
1 Tight End
1 Kicker
1 Defensive Team

An initial starting lineup will be randomly chosen for each team. Starting lineups will remain in effect until changed by the team owner. Lineups are due prior to the start of the first scheduled NFL game each week. These starting times vary each week, some starting as early as Thursday. Team Owners are responsible for keeping track of these times.

A player may only be used in the position they normally play in the NFL. Players may not be used out of position.

Trades/Transactions

Team Owners may trade players with another team at any time during the Open Roster Period. The Open Roster Period is defined as that period of time after the conclusion of the Draft and before the NFL season opens, and also that period of time between end of the final NFL game of the one week until the starting time of the first NFL game of the following week. Remember, this starting time varies from week to week.

The Trading Deadline is Sunday, November 12, 2006 at 11:30 AM CST. No trades will be allowed from the beginning of Week 10 of the NFL season through the end of the NFL season.

After the Trading Deadline, players dropped from any team through the ADD / DROP process are no longer eligible to picked up by any team, including the team that originally dropped the player. This rule is primarily in effect to prevent Team Owners from trying to circumvent the Trading Deadline.

All Team Owners involved in a trade must notify the Commissioner of acceptance of a proposed trade. A trade becomes final when the Commissioner receives notification of the exact trade from all Team Owners involved.

Any Owner involved in a proposed trade may rescind the trade by notifying Commissioner at any time before the trade becomes final.

Roster Changes

Teams may make Roster Changes thoughout the Regular Fantasy Football Season, however, each team is limited to twelve (12) roster changes during the season.

Make your changes wisely! If you use up all of your changes, and both of your QuarterBacks get injured, you may NOT make any further changes. This is a change for the 2006 Fantasy Football Season. It will not affect 95% of Teams.

Collusion

Collusion will NOT be tolerated. All accepted trades will be reviewed by the Commissioner before becoming final. Lopsided trades will not be accepted. The decision of the Commissioner is final.

Team Abandonment

Any team that does not participate in the Email Draft or update their roster for a period of three weeks during the regular season, and has not had contacted the league in this time period, will be considered abandoned. If a team has been ruled as abandoned, the league commissioner will run the team for the remainder of the season or transfer ownership to new owner. All efforts will be made by the league before declaring a team as abandoned.

Standings

Standings are based on a teams Won/Lost record during the regular season. Ties are allowed, and count as one half win and one half loss for the purpose of determining a teams's Won/Lost record.

Email Draft

The Draft will be conducted by Email and will be held over an 18 day period in August. The date of the draft time will be announced two weeks in advance.

Each day, the Commissioner will state the number of players to be submitted by each Team Owner. The Owner will list that number of players in the order in which he/she wants them chosen. The Commissioner will give the highest available player from that list when it is the team's turn to draft.
